Like I mentioned I served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints from June 1998 to June 2000. I lived in Tijuana Mexico, a city that lies along the Pacfic ocean and touches the US border (of California). If you cross the border you can get to San Diego in only a few minutes. Tijuana has an interesting culture and is actually quite a bit different than a typical American thinks.

Here is a shot from one of my first areas (called Salvatierra) on the outlying western part of Tijuana.

Watching the sunset over the Pacific ocean

You don't find many burros in TJ but every once in a while you'll run into one

Its not fun on a rainy day.

We took a couple trips to the beach while we were there to take some pictures.

I am a little flexible, and yes that is a starfish...

Here's my third area (Miramar) which is very close to my first area, Salvatierra.

Here is the U.S./Mexico border. It's just a metal fence that separates two very different worlds. You can notice below that the U.S. immigration (in the white jeep) keeps a very close watch.

Postal was my second area. I was more in the center part of the city, and as you can see it is a very nice place.

This is Cecut, the cultural center/ IMAX theater

Here are just some other elders (missionaries) after a meeting.
