About me, if you care to know...
I'm originally from Indiana but grew up in Champaign Illinois. I graduated from Central High School in 1997 and completed my freshman year at the University of Illinois. I then served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Tijuana Mexico from June 1998 - June 2000.
Upon return, I transfered to Brigham Young University in Provo Utah and graduated with a BS in Computer Science in 2004. During my studies at BYU, I also worked as a system administrator in the CS department for almost three years. At BYU, I co-founded the Magicians Club and was president for the first year. From 2003 - 2004, I was the president of the BYU Unix Users Group, one of the largest and most active computer organizations on campus. While in Utah, I was also involved with the Provo Linux Users Group and Salt Lake Linux Users Group.
After graduating, I worked for two years at Guru Labs in Bountiful Utah. I taught Linux system administration / security courses and wrote Linux courseware when not on the road. I traveled quite a bit during this time. I'm a Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE #803004182511286: Verify) and Red Hat Certified Instructor/Examiner (RHCX).
We moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in May 2006 where I began work for Red Hat as a Technical Account Manager in the Global Support Services division (dedicated technical contact for several of Red Hat's large hardware and software partners).
I am currently employed at Red Hat as a quality assurance engineer focused on kernel related testing and verification.
Lisa Roos and I were married on July 9th, 2005 in the Atlanta Georgia temple. Our daughter, Ensley, was born in February 2007. We have another child on the way soon (May 2009).
I spend the majority of my after hours time with my family and doing computer related activities (programming, system administration, etc). I also enjoy biking, playing piano, and being outdoors.
